We recommend starting with an Intro Private Session at The Black Swan Pilates in Sofia. This allows us to assess your movement, understand your goals and guide you toward the most suitable training approach.

Is pilates good for back pain and injury recovery?

Yes. Pilates is highly effective for back pain and injury recovery when taught by qualified instructors. At The Black Swan Pilates in Sofia, our lead instructor holds a BASI Injuries and Pathologies Certificate, and our team includes a qualified kinesitherapist. We build programmes around each client's specific condition, working safely with pain rather than through it.

Do you offer pilates for scoliosis in Sofia?

Yes. Three of our five instructors at The Black Swan Pilates are trained to work with scoliosis. We use intelligent, spine-aware movement to improve posture, reduce discomfort, and build stabilising strength safely.

Is pilates safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Our instructor Vassi holds a Pilates Through Pregnancy and Beyond Certification from Istanbul, 2025, and works with clients throughout all trimesters and the postnatal period, with a focus on safe, adapted movement.

Where is The Black Swan Pilates located in Sofia?

We operate two studios in Lozenets, Sofia. Our private studio is at 23A Gorski Patnik St. Our small group reformer studio is at 43A Gorski Patnik St. Both are open every day from 08:30 to 20:30.

What does BASI Pilates Host Studio mean?

BASI, which stands for Body Arts and Science International, is one of the worlds most respected Pilates education organisations, operating in over 40 countries. A BASI Host Studio is approved to host official BASI teacher certification programmes, requiring strict standards in instruction, space, and equipment. The Black Swan Pilates is the first and only BASI Host Studio in Bulgaria.

How often should I do Pilates?

For best results, we recommend 2 to 3 sessions per week, depending on your goals and experience level.

What is the difference between private and small group Reformer classes?

Accepted Answer

Private sessions at The Black Swan Pilates are fully tailored to your body and goals, using the full Pilates apparatus including Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel and Wunda Chair. Group Reformer classes follow a structured format in a small setting of maximum four clients, with ongoing individual corrections and infrared sauna included after class.

Do you offer infrared sauna?

Yes. Infrared sauna is available after all group Reformer classes at The Black Swan Pilates as part of the studio experience.

Do you offer prenatal pilates in Sofia?

Yes. Our instructor Vassi is certified in prenatal and postnatal pilates and works with clients from the first trimester through postpartum recovery, with fully adapted, safe programming at every stage.
